The Challenge: Bridging Thailand’s Digital Education Gap
Thailand’s Ministry of Education was facing a critical need to modernize the country’s education system. With an increasing demand for flexible, inclusive, and technology-driven learning environments, the traditional education model was falling short.
The key challenges included:
- A lack of scalable e-learning infrastructure across public and private schools.
- The need for a solution that supports blended and virtual learning accessible anytime, anywhere.
- Limited digital literacy and engagement among students and educators.
- An urgent requirement for tools that enable personalized learning and improve overall educational quality especially during times of crisis.
The Ministry sought a unified, user-friendly platform that could modernize education delivery while empowering educators and students alike.
The Solution: HP Classeasy Powered by Classera
In 2023, the Ministry of Education in Thailand partnered with Classera Inc. and HP to roll out HP Classeasy an advanced Learning Management System (LMS) powered by AI and designed for seamless hybrid learning.
Key components of the solution included:
- Personalized learning paths tailored to student needs.
- Teacher empowerment through data-driven tools, analytics, and digital content management.
- Blended and hybrid learning support to ensure learning continuity beyond the classroom.
- Smooth system integration for school administrators.
- Full training and ongoing support for educators and staff.
HP Classeasy was deployed across schools under both OBEC and OPEC, ensuring accessibility and impact across both public and private education sectors. The initiative aligned with the Ministry’s “Good Learning, Happy Learning” policy as clarified by the minister of education in Thailand.
“In the Ministry of Education's policy of "Good Learning, Happy Learning," the goal is to engage students in learning and ensure they are well prepared to grow in the digital world. The Ministry is also stiving to develop a central digital platform to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning.
However, while the Ministry's collaboration with teachers, parents, and communities may achieve some success, for both public and private sectors to contribute to education. As we all know, there is a universal declaration on education, which is education for all.”
Results: Real Impact, Measurable Change
The initiative led to tangible, measurable improvements across Thai schools:
- Increased student engagement and assignment submission rates.
- Higher digital fluency among teachers and students, even for those previously unfamiliar with technology.
- Continuity of learning during disruptions, through robust online learning infrastructure.
- Elevated teaching quality and learner outcomes, aligning Thai education with global standards.
In the past, when students submitted assignments the submission rate was not 100%, sometimes it didn't even reach 80%. However, with HP Classeasy, students' submissions have significantly increased. The more assignments they submit, the better their grades become.”
Paralee Murawong, - Mathematics Teacher
“It's far easier than writing in a notebook or searching through textbooks, with a mobile phone, students can complete assignments anytime, anywhere.
Initially, I wasn't familiar with technology at all, but after using the application, I started learning and improving my tech skills.”
Natthida Tong-on, student.
